The substrate identity

One witness, five products.

A single committed span witness emits thought (the answer), security (proofpower), proof (the dispute receipt), memory (the training receipt), and foresight (the branch family). No prior chain shipped its own conservation law. THEORY — composition claim; each component keeps its own ledger row.

The Braid · consensus

Stake alone cannot rule. Work alone cannot rule.

Finality weight is earned by matured, third-party-funded, consumed, non-circular useful work, decaying unless renewed — wi ∝ siα(1+βPi), hard-capped below one third THEORY. The difficulty puzzle constrains the committed output and its keyed hash, never the algorithm: any fast-matmul breakthrough is absorbed by per-block exponential retargeting THEORY. Lumen & Umbra · the two realms

An open ledger and a sealed world, from genesis.

Lumen is the open realm: UTXO notes, Merkle spend-condition trees, witness segregation, proof-gated spends BUILDABLE. Umbra is the sealed realm: every owner carries an encrypted causal world — hidden-footprint concurrency, plural counterfactual futures, exactly one realized head THEORY. Umbra deliberately ships dark: it activates only when its falsifiers (E-UMBRA-01, E-KEYS-01) pass — the honest inversion of shipping a privacy layer whose verifier returns true. Grain · execution

Meaning fits on one page. Speed is a market.

Grain is a 12-opcode total noun calculus — small enough to prove, total by construction BUILDABLE. Every fast implementation is a jet admitted only with a machine-checkable equivalence certificate, challengeable and slashed on divergence — the chain prices the meaning-preservation of fast code THEORY, falsifiers E-GRAIN-01, E-JET-01, E-WEFT-06. The Neural Lane · inference

The inference is the block.

Consensus-native token-by-token LLM execution. A frozen W8A8 integer profile (digest 1ce6c47f…) makes bit-exactness free by construction — all documented GPU nondeterminism is floating-point reduction-order variance, and the profile has none MEASURED on CPU; the cross-vendor GPU gate is open and stated as the program's Gate 1. Disputes descend token → layer → op → leaf; the leaf costs 1.8669 c/MAC MEASURED (cycle model), the layer dispute obeys the 1/T law 958,090/T + 11,602 MEASURED, and settlement is one real 288 B Groth16 receipt MEASURED (RISC Zero). Weft · language

The language that pays for its own claims.

Weft elaborates to Grain with proof-carrying compilation: certified cost polynomials, totality, linear resources, jet obligations, numeric profiles and privacy realms as types THEORY with lab gates MEASURED. The v0.2 lab compiler ships sum types with exhaustive match (checker error E-TOT-005), a second independent evaluator in JavaScript with zero divergences against the Python VM across the corpus plus 10,000 fuzzed units, and zero cost-certificate overruns. Chorus, Hearth & Swarm · people

Your house is a neuron. Your phone is a court.

A Hearth is one household's mixed-vendor devices bonded as a single logical executor; the Swarm federates hearths with replication and erasure seeding — zero bytes exchanged per token THEORY, falsifiers E-HEARTH-01..08. The Chorus is the phone-priced verification mesh: devices testify about projection slices, they never mine and never vote finality BUILDABLE. Testimony weight counts failure domains, not signatures: twelve cloned testifiers behind one declared lineage collapse to weight one MEASURED — paper 04. Settlement isolates disputes per job: a contested job freezes while unrelated jobs settle, proven over 4,324,320 causal interleavings MEASURED — paper 05. Loam & the dream lane · memory and foresight

Memory inherits rights. Foresight carries a kill switch.

Loam is the rights-metabolic knowledge commons: derived memory inherits rights; revocation creates repair-debt THEORY, falsifier E-RIGHTS-01. The dream lane computes sealed counterfactual futures on idle cycles DREAM — and its first market is already dead: outcome manipulation out-earned the forecast fee 21.7×, so the preregistered kill rule fired SIMULATED. The Reflex Lane · research note 08 · extension, not yet an organ

Machine-speed promises, chained to the truth.

Agents need answers in milliseconds; truth arrives in blocks. The proposed bridge: the slot leader streams signed, bonded reflex ticks (~50–250 ms) between canonical blocks — zero consensus weight, contradiction slashable, a promise clock that is never a finality clock THEORY. Capabilities gated by finality class are reserved as v2 — the scalar v1 was killed in review at specification. The rebuilt bridge lab is green on gates preregistered before its first run SIMULATED 2026-07-10.
